MIDNIGHT RECIPES (https://midnightrecipes.com/) respects your privacy. This policy explains how information is handled when you browse our recipes or contact us.

Information we collect

If you email us, we receive your email address and the information you choose to share. If you submit a recipe rating or review, we collect your star rating and any optional name or comment you provide. You do not need to create an account or log in to submit a review. If you do not provide a name, your review will be displayed under the name “Midnight Cook.” Reviews are stored in Supabase, our database service, so ratings and comments can be displayed on the website for other visitors to read. Our website is hosted by GitHub Pages, which may process technical request information to deliver and secure the site.

Analytics and cookies

We offer optional Google Analytics 4 (GA4) measurement to understand page visits, popular recipes, and general traffic sources. We load the Google Analytics tag only after you select “Accept analytics cookies” in our cookie notice. If you reject optional cookies, we do not load the GA4 tag through this website's consent feature.

With your consent, Google Analytics may process information such as pages visited, browser/device information, approximate location, and interactions. Google may use cookies and similar technologies to support this measurement. See Google's Privacy Policy for information about Google's processing.

Your choice is stored in your browser's local storage so we can remember it. You can change your choice at any time using the “Cookie settings” control in the website footer. If you withdraw consent after analytics has loaded, the change stops future loading on subsequent page views; it does not automatically erase any cookies already set by Google. You can also clear cookies in your browser settings.

How we use information

We use information to respond to messages, operate and protect the website, display recipe ratings and reviews, prevent spam and abuse, and improve the reading experience. We use Google Analytics information only when you consent to optional analytics cookies.

Advertising

We do not currently describe advertising cookies as active on this site. If we introduce Google AdSense or another advertising provider, we will update this policy and our consent controls as needed before activating those services.

Comments and ratings

MIDNIGHT RECIPES allows visitors to submit star ratings and optional comments on recipes without creating an account or logging in.

When you submit a review, we store your star rating and any optional name or comment you provide in Supabase, our database service. Reviews are publicly visible on the website and may be read by other visitors. If you do not provide a name, your review will be displayed under the name “Midnight Cook.”

We use reviews to display ratings and feedback on recipes and to improve the website. We may take reasonable measures to prevent spam or abuse and may remove reviews that violate our site rules.

If you would like to request the removal of a review you submitted, please contact us at from.midnightkitchen@gmail.com.

Please do not include sensitive personal information in review comments, as they are publicly visible.

Third-party links

Some pages may link to third-party websites. Those services have their own privacy practices, which we do not control.

Retention and security

We retain email correspondence as needed to respond to inquiries and manage the website. Recipe ratings and reviews are stored in Supabase and retained until they are deleted or no longer needed for the purposes described in this policy, subject to applicable requirements.

We take reasonable steps to protect information under our control. However, no internet service is completely secure. Supabase may process and store information in accordance with its applicable terms and privacy practices. Information processed by third-party services is subject to their respective terms and policies. See Supabase's Privacy Policy for more information.

Your choices and rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information. Contact us for privacy inquiries. You can decline optional analytics cookies without losing access to recipes.

Updates

We may update this policy as our website or services change. The date at the top shows the most recent revision.
