- 1 lb boneless skinless chicken breasts, cut into 1-inch pieces
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- 2 cloves garlic minced
- 1 teaspoon grated ginger
- 1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes optional
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Optional vegetables: zucchini bell peppers, onions, mushrooms
In a large bowl, combine chicken, soy sauce, rice vinegar, sesame oil, garlic, ginger, and red pepper flakes (if using). Mix well, cover, and marinate in the refrigerator for 30 minutes to 2 hours.
Heat a large skillet or wok over high heat until hot. Add vegetable oil and swirl to coat.
Add the marinated chicken to the pan in a single layer. Cook, stirring occasionally, for 5-7 minutes or until the chicken is fully cooked and has a golden-brown sear.
Season with salt and pepper to taste. Remove from the pan and set aside.
(Optional) Sauté vegetables in the same pan until tender-crisp, about 3-5 minutes.
Serve the hibachi chicken with steamed rice, hibachi-style vegetables, or your favorite dipping sauces.
- To save time, prep your vegetables and marinade in advance.
- For extra flavor, drizzle teriyaki sauce or sprinkle sesame seeds on the finished dish.
- Use a cast-iron skillet or griddle for the most authentic hibachi experience.
